The HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese Auxiliary donated $22,000 to the HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation to support the purchase of medical equipment and comfort items across several hospital departments, according to a May 1 announcement.
This annual donation is intended to help enhance patient care at Saint Joseph’s Hospital by providing additional equipment and essentials that improve the patient experience. The funds will be used this year for a bladder scanner in the Emergency Department and a surgical positioner for Surgery.
“As we close out National Volunteer Week this month, I can’t thank our Auxiliary members enough for all the work and hours they contribute to St. Joseph’s all year round,” said Amanda Ennen, Chief Administrative Officer at St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese. “The money they raise stays local and help us respond quickly to evolving equipment needs and improve both the safety and experience of our patients and the community.”
The Auxiliary is a volunteer group that supports Saint Joseph’s through events, service activities, fundraising projects such as book fairs, gift shop revenues, raffles, sales events, in-kind gifts for patients, and volunteering at hospital functions.
“The Foundation is deeply appreciative of the Auxiliary’s continued partnership and generosity,” said Emily Wilson, Philanthropy Officer for HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation Breese. “Their commitment allows us to invest in many more projects to keep local care accessible to all.”
