In a Nov. 18 Facebook post, Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) shared a post from Rep. Dave Severin (R-Marion) about the 5 Loaves Thanksgiving dinner event.

“More than 300 meals served,” Bryant posted.

In his post, Severin wrote, “A great time was had by all at yesterday’s Five Loaves Annual Thanksgiving Dinner in Sesser. Good to have Senator Terri Bryant there with us! Great volunteers served in person and delivered meals to members of the community.”

The Thanksgiving dinner event at 5 Loaves Cafe goes back several years, according to the Benton Evening News. The first event was held in 2017 and there were more than 200 Thanksgiving dinners served that year.

Bryant and Severin both ran unopposed in November’s general elelction.
