City of Greenville Tourism Committee met Nov. 17.

Following the Executive Order issued by Governor Pritzker and with the surge in COVID Omicron variant, it has been determined by Mayor Barber that this public meeting be held both in-person and by remote participation.

The Tourism meeting was called to order on November 17, 2022 at 5:27 PM by Sharon Grimes.

1. ROLL CALL

Sharon Grimes, Kathy Brewer, David Kessinger, Laura Wall, Amrish Patel

Committee Members Absent:

Om Jogi, Erin Bradshaw, Ashley Rench

Staff Present: Interim Tourism Director Bill Walker

Public Present: Joe Alstat

3.1. Minutes of:

A) Minutes of March 24, 2022 Meeting were presented for approval.

Motion by Amrish Patel, seconded by Laura Wall, to approve March 24, 2022 meeting minutes

RESULT: Carried

4. MATTERS OF CONSIDERATION

4.1. Grant request from the I-70 Coaches Clinic was made by the event’s director, Joe Alstat. Clinic is to be held January 15 & January 16 and is in it’s 20th year. The 2023 lineup includes head coaches from Louisiana State University, Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University as well as the Pittsburg Pirates pitching coach. After 2 years of live streaming the event, the 2023 event will in person only. A request was made for $3,000.

Brewer made a motion to approve $4,000, as the budget was for $5,000. Kessinger seconded the motion,
