HSHS St. Francis Hospital announced on Mar. 27 that it will hold the Women’s Health Survival Guide event, a free informational conference focused on women’s health and local safety resources. The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 11 at the Litchfield Community Center starting at 4:30 p.m.
The conference aims to provide education about women’s health issues and connect attendees with community agencies offering support and resources. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a presentation by Nikki Edwards, HSHS System Manager of Culture and Experience, who will speak about emotional regulation.
Ronita Rufus, Emergency Department nurse at St. Francis Hospital, said, “Emotional regulation is a vital part of our overall health and well-being. At the Women’s Health Survival Guide event, attendees will explore comprehensive women’s health topics, discover local resources and learn practical strategies to better understand and manage their emotions.”
The event will also feature a vendor fair and local food trucks for attendees to enjoy. To further support community members living with breast cancer, Alpha Candles and T-shirts are being sold in connection with the event; proceeds from these sales will benefit Montgomery County Breast Cancer Support Group.
T-shirts can be ordered until April 20 through an online store while Alpha Candles are available for order until May 15 via an online form. Registration for the conference is not required.
