Macoupin County Board Economic Development Committee met Oct. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Starr, Blank (Remote), Rosentreter, Duncan

ABSENT: Armour, Kilduff, Klausing, Payne

II. AGENDA ITEMS

1. Resolution in Support of Frontier Grant for Broadband Access

Duncan said that Armour had heard from Frontier and while they wanted a letter of support for the Broadband grant through the Bead challenge, they were also asking for a resolution in support of the grant. This would be that resolution.

2. Supplemental Engineering Agreement for Lotus Wind Farm

Duncan said Armour and Reinhart has put this on the agenda. It was an additional agreement to cover the costs of Cummins Engineering doing the Lotus Wind work. The original agreement was for $151,061 and this would be an additional $10,000 on top of that to complete the work. The total costs would be paid for by Lotus Wind.

3. Update on potential sale of County Trustee property

Duncan said he had spoken to the Trustee about this property. The county could split the farmland off from the farmland and sell it in a separate auction. This could happen around January which should give anyone wanting to farm it plenty of time to get in the field. The easiest way to get the accurate legal description would be to have a survey completed. The county could have a temporary legal description done and have a stipulation on the sale that the buyer would pay to have a survey done before recording.
