V. DISCUSSION

1. Bridge 059-3067 Closed Palmyra Bridge

The Committee discussed the status of structure 059-3067 carrying North Road over Solomon Creek in North Palmyra Township. The structure was ordered closed by the Illinois Department of Transportation in September 2018 due to multiple failed timber abutment piles. Options for replacement of the structure have been discussed with the North Palmyra Road Commissioner. Culverts and bypassing the structure with a new road have been determined to be impractical. The Road Commissioner has requested the structure be replaced using the

Township Bridge Program.

2. ARPA Funds and SAFE-T Act

The Committee also had a discussion about the ARPA funds and the SAFE-T act.

3. County MFT Fund Budget

Reinhart also reported he has asked the Finance Committee for a $450,000 increase in the 2021-2022 County MFT budget. This will increase the budget from $ 1,665,300 to $2,115,300. This is necessary due to the sharp increase in material costs this year.
