Bond County taxpayers ranked 70th in total sales taxes paid per county in January, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Bond County residents paid $196,056 in sales taxes during January.

Bond County ranked 68th in the Prairie State the month before, with $177,620 spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Bond County residents in January.

As of 2021, Illinois was the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes were 39.83% higher than the national average.
