City of Carlinville City Council met June 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Link, Alderman Brockmeier, Alderman Campbell, Alderman Koller, Alderman Ober, Alderman Oswald, Alderman McClain, Mayor Deanna Demuzio, Deputy City Clerk Julie Stults, City Treasurer/Budget Officer Jody Reichmann, Police Chief Haley, Woodard & Curran Representative Dan Held, and Zoning Administrator Steve Parr. Alderman Downey came in at 7:13 p.m.

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Campbell to approve minutes, seconded by Ober, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills/Approval of Lake Bills/Lake Adhoc Bills/Lake Watershed - Motion made to approve all listed by Alderman Ober, seconded by Link, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

Lions Club Correspondence

CNB Correspondence both listed correspondence approved to place on file. Motion to place correspondence on file by Alderman McClain, second by Alderman Koller, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment

Mayor Demuzio thanked Loretta Tawfall, Mary Tinder, Randy Tinder, John Yowell and anyone else who has donated their time and flowers for the Amtrak Station.

Alderman Ober thanked everyone who took time out of Memorial Day weekend to help mow yards and pick up trash.

Old Business

IARWC Update – Alderman Campbell stated she did not have anything to update at this time.

Ordinance Entering into an Agreement with Meco-Heneghan Engineers, LLC – Second Read – Alderman Downey questioned if we are going to be reimbursed by IARWC for this project. Alderman Campbell clarified that this is a Carlinville Connection project that has nothing to do with IARWC at this time. Woodard & Curran Representative Dan Held from Public Works also spoke about the need for the project. Max Middendorf from Meco-Heneghan Engineers, LLC also stated what this project is. Motion to approve the proposed contract and allow the Mayor to sign this contract and the loan agreement to finance this project with Co-Bank with a spending limit of $1.3 million that was budgeted for fiscal year 2019/2020 was made by Alderman Link, second by Alderman Ober, motion passed seven to one.

New Business

IML Conference Sept 19-21 – Alderman Oswald let everyone know this is one of the only training tools our Alderman have and to please let her know in the next couple weeks if they would like to go.

Motion was made by Alderman Ober at 7:28p.m. to adjourn, second by Alderman Campbell, motion passed unanimously.
