City of Carlyle Parks Committee met Sept. 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Scott Diekemper on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Case Halstead Library. Committee members present included Scott Diekemper and John Hodapp. Jeremy Weh was absent. Others present included Dustin Bilbruck, Dena Brammeier, Don Kauling, Kim Kauling, Shannon Petrea, Don Perez, Kent Newkirk, Michael Jansen, Mayor Judy Smith, Andy Brackett, and Martha Reinkensmeyer.

After reviewing the minutes from the August 20, 2019 meeting, John Hodapp made a motion to approve the minutes. Scott Diekemper seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

The first item on the agenda was Citizens for Carlyle Parks comments. Shannon stated that the golf tournament will be held September 28th.

The first item on the agenda was the ATG Sports contract pricing for the sports complex. Jason Portz from ATG provided the Committee a handout with hard pricing for the proposed sports complex. The total would be $1.49 million. This price would include four turf fields, padded backstops, three multi-functional metal roof dugouts, vinyl fencing with gates that lock, sod, irrigation, scoreboards, and foul poles with mesh wings. This price did not include lighting. Jason stated that this could easily be added later. While discussing the pricing for the sports complex, Don Perez stated his displeasure over the sports complex being located at Carlyle High School. A discussion was then held on the location and whether the complex should have turf. No motions were made.

There was no old business.

There were no any other comments.

There were no public comments.

The Committee did not enter executive session so there were no executive session items on which to vote.

With no further business to discuss, John Hodapp made a motion to adjourn. Scott Diekemper seconded the motion. Finding all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
