City of Carlinville City Council met November 4

City of Carlinville City Council met Jan. 4.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Brockmeier, Alderman Downey, Alderman Howard, Alderman Koller, Alderman Link, Alderman McClain Alderman Ober, Alderman Oswald, City Attorney Dan O’Brien, City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, City Treasurer/Budget Officer Jody Reichmann, Police Chief Haley, Zoning Administrator Steve Parr Absent: Mayor Deanna Demuzio, Woodard & Curran Representative Dan Held – Alderman Oswald chaired the meeting in the Mayors absence.

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Brockmeier, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills/Approval of Lake Bills/Lake Adhoc Bills/Lake Watershed - Motion made to approve all listed by Alderman Koller, seconded by Ober, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

FT Officer Michael Stevenson Resignation PT Officer Aaron Key Resignation

Motion was made to approve and place on file by Alderman Ober, seconded by McClain, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment

Alderman Oswald announced that the Finance Committee Meetings would be moved to Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m., between the first and second City Council Meetings of the month.

Alderman McClain informed the council and public that there will be a clean up day at the Recycling Center on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Any volunteers would be welcome.

Old Business

An Ordinance Establishing an Enterprise Zone within the City of Carlinville, Gillespie, Bunker Hill, Staunton and Macoupin Co., IL – Second Read / Motion was made to approve by Alderman Link, seconded by Ober, motion passed unanimously.

An Ordinance Enacting a Policy Statement Expressing a Commitment to Encourage the Development of Business Entities and the Hiring of Minorities, Women and Persons with Disabilities – Second Read / Motion was made by Alderman McClain to approve seconded by Brockmeier, motion passed unanimously.

New Business

East Main and East Charles / Tree Removal – Alderman Oswald suggested that this matter be referred back to the Finance Committee.

Replace FT Police Officer – Motion was made to replace the full-time officer from previous resignation by Alderman Howard, second by Ober, motion passed with Brockmeier, Howard, Koller, McClain and Ober voting aye, Downey and Link voting nay.

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 7:10 p.m., seconded by Ober motion passed unanimously.
