HSHS St. Francis Hospital issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.
HSHS St. Francis Hospital is offering a Don’t Diet, Eat Mindfully class beginning March 9 through Bridget Rolens, MA, BSOT, mind-body health services educator at the hospital.
“Despite our best intentions, we often end up eating in ways that harm our health both physical and mental. Developing the skill of mindfulness will help,” Rolens said regarding the upcoming class which runs March 9 through April 13. Class time will be 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. in the hospital’s auditorium.
Rolens holds a Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy and a Master of Arts in theology. She has certifications as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher and as a Healthy-Steps trainer. She has completed the Core Coach Training program through Wellcoaches7 School of Coaching. Over 40 years of experience in traditional health care, mind-body medicine and a variety of meditation practices give Rolens a strong understanding of the connection between body, mind and spirit in promoting health and well-being.
The suggested donation for this class series is $20. For more information, or to register, email bridget.rolens@hshs.org or call (217) 544-LIVE.
