I. Regular Meeting

A. Roll Call

The Board of Education of Wesclin Community School District # 3, Clinton and St. Clair Counties, Illinois, met in a special session at the hour of 6:00 p.m., at the Wesclin High School in said district.

At the above-named time and place there were present the following officers and members of the Board:

Aaron Hoerchler, President: Present

Paul Josias, Vice President: Present

Tina Litteken, Treasurer: Present

Connie Elmore, Secretary: Present

Matt Fridley: Absent

Jeff Stroot: Present

Zach Peters: Absent

A quorum of the Board members being present, the current president called the meeting to order and declared the Board to be in session for the transaction of business.

Zack Huels: Present 

Patrick Weathers: Present 

Jamie Pence: Absent

B. Agenda modification

Motion made by Tina Litteken seconded by Paul Josias to approve agenda as presented and add action item C.

Vote: Connie Elmore-aye, Aaron Hoerchler-aye, Paul Josias-aye, Tina Litteken-aye, Jeff Stroot-aye.

III. Items Requiring Board of Education Action

A. 2022/2023 Learning Plan

Motion by Connie Elmore seconded by Jeff Stroot to approve the 2022-2023 Learning Plan.

Vote: Connie Elmore-aye, Aaron Hoerchler-aye, Paul Josias-aye, Tina Litteken-aye, Jeff Stroot-aye.

Motion passes 5-0

B. Maintenance Grant – Trenton Elementary Playground Drainage Project

Motion by Tina Litteken seconded by Connie Elmore to approve KRB Excavating for Trenton Elementary School Health Life Safety/Maintenance Grant playground drainage project for $73,825.

Vote: Connie Elmore-aye, Aaron Hoerchler-aye, Paul Josias-aye, Tina Litteken-aye, Jeff Stroot-aye.

Motion passes 5-0

C. Officials Pay

Motion by Tina Litteken seconded by Paul Josias to approve the rate increases for athletic officials as itemized.

Vote: Connie Elmore-aye, Aaron Hoerchler-aye, Paul Josias-aye, Tina Litteken-aye, Jeff Stroot-aye.

Motion passes 5-0

D. Consent Agenda

Hires:

Kristal Lewis – We are recommending Mrs. Lewis as a kindergarten teacher in the district.

Cory Williamson – We are recommending Mr. Williamson as a teacher aide in the district

Lori Brandmeyer – We are recommending Mrs. Brandmeyer as a teacher aide in the district.

Jodie Matheis: We are recommending Mrs. Matheis as the secretary at Trenton Elementary School.

Jessica Ottensmeier – We are recommending Mrs. Ottensmeier as a full-time interpreter for the district.

Heather Klein – We are recommending Dr. Klein as a Class of 2026 sponsor.

Rebecca Musso – We are recommending Mrs. Musso as a Class of 2026 sponsor.

Jessica Pilgreen – We are recommending Dr. Pilgreen as a class of 2023 sponsor.

Leave Without Pay

Erin Davis – Mrs. Davis is requesting 2 days without pay to attend a trip with her family.

Resignation

Lisa Hamil – Mrs. Hamil is resigning her position as part time prek teacher.

Jon Bagby – Mr. Bagby is resigning his position as high school Spanish teacher.

Brandon Murphy – Mr. Murphy is resigning his position as high school track coach.

Brady Moore – Mr. Moore is resigning his position as a teacher aide in the district.

Motion by Tina Litteken seconded by Connie Elmore to approve consent agenda as presented.

Vote: Connie Elmore-aye, Aaron Hoerchler-aye, Paul Josias-aye, Tina Litteken-aye, Jeff Stroot-aye.

Motion passes 5-0

E. New Baden Principal

Motion by Tina Litteken seconded by Jeff Stroot to extend a contract offer to Patrick Weathers as the New Baden Elementary School Principal.

Vote: Connie Elmore-aye, Aaron Hoerchler-aye, Paul Josias-aye, Tina Litteken-aye, Jeff Stroot-aye.

Motion passes 5-0

IV. Adjournment:

It was moved by Paul Josias seconded by Jeff Stroot that the meeting be adjourned. Meeting was adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
