Analysis: Hillsboro pays $5.63 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hillsboro Firefighter's Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.9 percent of the $135,986 the Hillsboro Firefighter's Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.63 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hillsboro contributed $115,481 to the fund, which saw a $19,134 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $20,505, or 15.1 percent, in 2016.
