Analysis: Vandalia pays $2.29 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Vandalia Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 69.6 percent of the $211,574 the Vandalia Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.29 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Vandalia contributed $147,298 to the fund, which saw a $17,592 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $64,275, or 30.4 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
