Taylor Springs VFD responds to nine fires in 2017

Taylor Springs Volunteer Fire Department responded to 13 calls in 2017 - 225 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Taylor Springs included nine fires - six structure fires, two vehicle fires and one other fire.

In all, the department saw $7,690 in fire loss - or about $854 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.
