The data shows that nine men and three women were released in the Staunton zip code. The median age of the parolees was 41. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old woman convicted of a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Edward Gordon. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014, when he was 44 years old. He is now 49.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
