Macoupin County Finance Committee me June 19

Meetingroom04

Macoupin County Finance Committee met June 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Thomas, Harding, Armour, Lewis, Tranter, Duncan

ABSENT: Kiel, Rull

II. AGENDA ITEMS

1. FY 2019-2020 Tentative Budget for General Fund and Special Funds

Clerk Duncan walked through the tentative General Fund budget. Based on the monthly average of each item in the revenue, excepting the income tax and sales tax, which we are using the actual yearly distribution from the state; and the fines and fees, which is subtracting out the $150,000 estimated loss from state police money; the General Fund would have about a $15,000 deficit if each budget was given the amount requested. The deficit would increase if Probation were given an additional $12,000 for drug court training and Child Advocacy Center were given an additional $30,000 from their request. Duncan said the revenue averages could change as the month continues as he is updating the monthly average as June money comes in.

For the special fund budget, all funds were as requested from the budget request. The committee requested a column showing the current balance in the fund.

The committee would meet again at their regular meeting on July 3rd to recommend the tentative budget.
