City of Staunton Personnel Committee met June 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order: The Committee Meeting was called to order at 6:50 PM

Attendance:

Present: Mayor Neuhaus, Alderpersons: Wallace, Hanks, Johnson, Scanzoni, Plenske. Electronically: Machota, Bodner, Taylor.

Guests: Kelly Best, Phil Lading, Cindy Pirok, Dennis Stiegemeier

Meeting Minutes from 5/18/20 Motion to approve by Hanks, Seconded by Neuhaus. Approved.

Business:

Employee Performance review policy on the agenda for adoption.

Employee Performance Review Forms on the agenda for adoption.

No comments, suggestions or objections to either forms or policy.

Chief Doerr compensation discussion: Alderperson Wallace asked why there were only 15 minutes allotted for discussion. I explained this was discussed on 5/18/20 in detail and at the conclusion of the meeting when polled, no one had any objections. Several emails were sent to all council members with the details requesting feedback. Since no replies or objections were brought up since the last meeting, I didn't think there was a need for additional time for another in depth discussion. (Please see meeting minutes from 5/18/20. No objections were made regarding the meeting minutes when called to order and minutes were approved with no objections.)

Both Alderpersons Wallace and Hanks expressed concerns over the Chiefs performance citing lack of tickets issued by the Chief. A question was posed about the Lidar training and had it been completed. It was noted by the Chief and Alderperson Taylor the Lidar Train ing had been assigned to Ron Maedge. Alderperson Wallace expressed her desire to pass over this motion for more discussion otherwise she will make a motion to

A question posed to the entire council do they want to suspend the Personnel meeting and continue it after the Council meeting. Alderman Hanks stated continuing the meeting after the meeting would be pointless after the vote. The motion to adjourn was made and the meeting closed.
