Inc. in the amount of $80,037.00 for work performed on the Vollentines Addition Ward III Storm Sewer Project, Contractor’s Pay Request #1, this conditioned upon receipt of signed mechanics lien waivers in this amount and recommendation by the Project Engineer that the work has been satisfactorily performed

Cemetery Board – 

Motion to approve Board Member Hager as Chairman of the Cemetery Board 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to direct the City Attorney to prepare an

Ordinance to set Oak Hill Cemetery prices as set forth: 

Grave $700 

Regular burial – Opening/closing $700 

Cremation – Opening/closing $500 

Saturday & Holiday – Opening/closing $100 added to price

Finance – 

Motion recommend to the City Council to approve the renewal of General Liability/Auto, Property/Equipment, Sales Tax Interruption, Cyber, and Pollution insurance coverage from Chubb and Travelers, including a three year pre-paid Fidelity Bond, at a total cost of $285,701.00 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented

Ordinance - 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to direct the City Attorney to prepare an Ordinance to add fence definitions and requirements to the Building Permit portion of the City Code 

Motion to recommend to the City Attorney to prepare an Ordinance to amend the City Code to place No Trespassing from 9:00 P.M. – 5:00 A.M. signs at the three entrances to the Cemetery

Street & Sewer – 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to forward to the Ordinance Committee to allow for the necessary changes to allow for the driveway at 828 West Vandeveer Street, with the City’s share of costs to be determined at a later date 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to forward to the Ordinance Committee the approval and installation of a stop sign to be placed at the corner of Fairview Street and the street leading into Fairview Trailer Park 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to approve the Special Events Permit for the Journey in July and request to block off the West side of the Square July 24-26, 2020 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to forward to the Ordinance Committee the approval and installation of No Parking on this Side of Street signs from 311 West Wilson to the curve at the corner of Hawley Street 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to approve the request to resurface to the alleyways between Market & Main Cross and Washington & Main Street using funds from the BDD 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to forward to the Ordinance Committee for approval and installation of two Slow Children at Play signs (one on each side of the road) at 3900 East Lakeshore Drive 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to approve the closure of the South Side of the Square for the 4th of July Parade 

Emergency Services – 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to allow Fire Chief Adermann to proceed with the purchase of eight fire helmets at a cost not to exceed $3,000.00 all at once, or half, at his discretion 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to allow Fire Chief Adermann to enter into a contract with Yard Heating and Cooling for preventative maintenance for a 5-package heating and cooling units and 2 split systems at a cost not to exceed $1,278.23, unless a combined contract with the Municipal Building results in a lower cost

Motion to recommend to the City Council to reflect the change of vehicle being purchased with the USDA Grant to a 2019 Ford Taurus from Morrow Brothers Ford Inc. at a cost not to exceed $37,978.00, not the 2020 Dodge Charger from John Jones Pursuit Vehicles originally approved at the December  Emergency Services Committee

Personnel - 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to fill the Office Level I position in the Water Billing Office 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to fill two Police Officer positions for the Police Department 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to hire two Police Offices laterally for the Police Department 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to hire 3 Police Sergeants for the Police Department 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to fill the Heavy Equipment Operator B position in the Sewer Department 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to promote Austin Kunz to a Heavy Equipment Operator B position in the Street Department 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to fill the Laborer Position in the Street Department 

Motion to recommend to the City Council to promote Travis Ostermeier to a Heavy Equipment Operator A in the Cemetery Department effective July 6, 2020

Motion to approve and/or ratify payment of bills ($223,376.69)

• Per subparagraph (g) of 5 ILCS 120/2.06, this portion of the City Council Meeting is reserved for any person wishing to address the Council on any relevant subject matters concerning the City. The Illinois Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/1 et seq.) mandates NO action shall be taken on subject matters not listed on the agenda, but the Council may direct staff to address the topic or refer the subject matter to a future Council and/or Committee Meeting.
