Witt Volunteer Fire Department Inc responded to 21 calls in 2018 - 27.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Witt Inc included 16 fires - 11 structure fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $35,000 in fire loss - or about $2,188 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian non-fire deaths.
