Smithboro Fire Protection District responded to 25 calls in 2018 - 10.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Smithboro included 23 fires - 12 structure fires, three vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $73,500 in fire loss - or about $3,196 per fire.

The department also received two false calls.

The Smithboro Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $64,042 in 2018.
