Aviston Elementary School District #21 Board of Education met Feb. 16.

2. Public Comment/Recognition of Visitors/Good News Report
a. Public Comment: None
b. Good News Report: The Aviston Eagles Girls Basketball Team won the 2022 Class S State Championship. The Aviston Eagles Boys Basketball Team are 2022 Regional Champions and participated in the Class M State Tournament. The Scholastic Book Fair had approximately $7,000 in revenue, which will provide new reading materials for the library.

7. New Business
a. Technology Planning Forecast – Information Only
a. Marc Mays of Quality Network Solutions provided information on the current inventory of District technology, end-of-life estimates and recommendations for one year and five-year maintenance/replacement cycles.
b. Graduation Scheduling
a. Motion by Strubhart, second by Schulte to set the 8th Grade Graduation date on May 19, 2022 at 7 pm.

c. Tentative School Calendar FY23 – Information Only
a. The tentative calendar consists of a student start date of August 15,
2022 and last day of school on May 19, 2023.
d. COVID Layered Mitigation Plan
a. No action taken.
8. **Closed Session - Closed session may be used to discuss contract negotiations, employee issues and other items as deemed necessary by the board and as approved in 5 ILCS 120/2 of the Open Meetings Act.
