The women's track and field team started the outdoor portion of the schedule with a second place finish at Washington-St. Louis on Saturday. The Panthers collected 108 points in the meet and were led by Tawny Rodriguez with a win in the shot put and second place in the discus.
Rodriguez had a winning attempt of 12.51 meters (41 feet-0.50 inch) in the shot put and a runner up performance of 39.18 meters (128-6) in the discus.
Ashley Smith gave Greenville a 1-2 placement in the shot put with a second place attempt of 12.14 meters (39-10).
Talahiva Talanoa ranked second in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.45 meters (142-7).
Anna Beth Vancil ended as the runner up in the high jump with a clearance of 1.60 meters (5-3).
Greenville's 4x100 meter relay team included Jocelyn Fritz, Laila Graham, Cheyenne Bradshaw, and Eyonna Owens, and the team was third with a time of 49.93 seconds.
Cayden Sharp helped GU's team score with a pair of third place finishes. She was third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.12 seconds, and she was third in the 100 meter dash when she clocked a time of 12.30 seconds.
Graham posted a third place distance in the long jump with an attempt of 5.04 meters (16-6.5).
Alexis Roberts finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.60, and Abbi Thomason ended third in the javelin throw with a mark of 31.49 meters (103-4).
The Panthers will return to Washington-St. Louis for a meet on March 31 and April 1.
