Macoupin County Board Road and Bridge Committee met Oct. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Heuer, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins, Reinhart

ABSENT: Kiel, Adden

II. AUDIT BILLS

1. Review and Recommend monthly claims

Claims 14356 through 14380 totaling $ 99,666.51 were read and the following motion made:

Motion made by Rosentreter, seconded by Barr to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS] 

MOVER: Molly Rosentreter, Member

SECONDER: Leann Barr, Member

AYES: Heuer, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

ABSENT: Kiel, Adden

III. 50/50 PETITIONS

1. North Otter #51

The following 50/50 project petition was presented:

ProjectEstimate County Share

North Otter #51 $ 12,000.00 $ 6,000.00

The County’s obligation for the project will be the “County Share” only.

Motion made by Wiggins seconded by Armour to approve the petition and recommend passage by the full board.

RESULT: MOTION TO RECOMMEND [UNANIMOUS] 

MOVER: Tony Wiggins, Member

SECONDER: Todd Armour, Member

AYES: Heuer, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

ABSENT: Kiel, Adden

IV. NEW BUSINESS

1. Resolution accepting bids for a medium duty dump truck and trailer

The Committee reviewed the results of the September 26, 2024 letting for a medium duty dump truck and a tilt bed equipment trailer. The following motion was made:

Motion made by Rosentreter, seconded by Armour to accept the bids and recommend a resolution awarding the purchase of the dump truck to Victory Lane Ford of Litchfield and awarding the purchase of the trailer to Victory Lane Outdoors.

RESULT: MOTION TO RECOMMEND [UNANIMOUS]

SECONDER: Todd Armour, Member

AYES: Heuer, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

ABSENT: Kiel, Adden

V. DISCUSSION

1. ARPA

The Committee was updated on the ARPA projects. Reinhart reported that he has identified equipment to purchase that will obligate the remaining ARPA funds allotted to the Highway Department. This will remove the concern about getting the bridge projects let and under contract before the end of the year.
