City of Centralia Fire & Police Commission met January 7

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm at Emergency Operations Center.

Roll Call

Public Forum- none
Minutes – Motion by D. Stock and second J. Flagg by to accept minutes from previous meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Correspondence – Received polygraph results for Police (Oglesby, Smith and Hinkel).
Old business –Initial eligibility list was put out on December 10th Fire Department: Accepted as presented by Chief Day.
Preference points need to be added to finalize hiring list Fire Department – Motion by D. Stock and second by J. Flagg to add 5 (five) preference points to the four candidates who submitted appropriate documentation.
Discussions on what certifications, licensures, and degrees are going to be accepted and what weight each carry for Fire Department. Based on discussion there is a need to amend the bylaws of the commission for Fire Fighter eligibility preference points. Review of relevant law and procedure for the change will continue.
