Analysis: Centralia pays $5.12 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Centralia Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.7 percent of the $622,508 the Centralia Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.12 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Centralia contributed $520,952 to the fund, which saw a $52,822 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $101,555, or 16.3 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
