Analysis: Salem pays $4.61 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Salem Fpd Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.2 percent of the $112,518 the Salem Fpd Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.61 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Salem contributed $92,481 to the fund, which saw a $10,025 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $20,037, or 17.8 percent, in 2016.
