Report: Mount Olive spent $10,263 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Mount Olive Community Unit School District 5 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $10,064 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,263 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 540 to 474.

Mount Olive's spending in 2016-17 was 21 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
