Report: Brownstown spent $10,276 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Brownstown Community Unit School District 201 is down 5 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Fayette County school district spent $10,858 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,276 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 383 to 376.

Brownstown's spending in 2016-17 was 21 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
