Report: Nashville spent $8,928 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Nashville Community Consolidated School District 49 is up 12 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Washington County school district spent $8,000 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,928 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 573 to 603.

Nashville's spending in 2016-17 was 31 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
