Cost of college went up for all students at Blackburn College

Tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2017-18 at Blackburn College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $21,992 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $830 more than the $21,162 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 158 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.25 million and 139 students took out student loans totaling more than $737,526.

Including all undergraduates, 562 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6.96 million. Another 482 took out $2.8 million in federal student loans.
