Beckmeyer-Wade Township Fire Protection District responded to 16 calls in 2017 - 11.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Beckmeyer-Wade included eight fires - three structure fires, one vehicle fire and four other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $140,000 in fire loss - or about $17,500 per fire.

The department also received seven false calls.
