Hoffman Fire Protection District responded to 11 calls in 2017 - 57.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hoffman included 10 fires - three structure fires and seven other fires.

The department also received one false call.

The Hoffman Estates Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 93 active employees and 70 retired or inactive employees, was $38,137 positive as of December 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $6,356 for every fire in 2016.
