St Elmo Fire Protection District responded to 13 calls in 2017 - 23.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in St Elmo included 11 fires - six structure fires, two vehicle fires and three other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

The department also received one false call.

One fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.
