Medora VFD responds to 14 fires in 2017

Medora Volunteer Fire Department responded to 18 calls in 2017 - 25 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Medora included 14 fires - six structure fires, three vehicle fires and five other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $2,164,500 in fire loss - or about $154,607 per fire.

The department also received three false calls, including one malicious call and two other false calls.

The Medora Volunteer Fire Department had an annual budget of $100,045 in 2017.
