Pana Community Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.
Pana Amvets Post 44 made a donation to Quad County Hospice, No Veteran Will Die Alone program. Amvets members Roy Clark, Jim Stout, Richard Chatman, and Commander Mickey Clemons presented a check to Rachael Springate Volunteer Coordinator on July 18th, 2018. No Veteran Will Die Alone program started in June 2017. Since then, Quad County and its volunteer veterans have honored over forty veterans that have been in Quad County Hospice care. The honoring pinning ceremonies are conducted where the veteran hospice patient resides and it is coordinated with the family if they would like to attend. The generous donation from Pana Amvets will help with the cost for the American Flag and branch of service lapel pins. These pins along with other gifts of appreciation are given to the veteran during the ceremony to say thank you for your service to our country. Quad County Home Health/Hospice and DME service area includes Shelby, Christian, Fayette, and Montgomery counties.
