Ramsey Community Unit School District 204 students suspended, expelled 18 times in a single school year

Ramsey Community Unit School District 204 reported one expulsions and 17 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 18 students during the year. That equates to 4.1 percent of the 437 students enrolled.

Students were expelled for one incident with violence that caused physical injury.

Of the 13 in-school suspensions, all of whom were high schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 13 incidents. For six incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence that caused physical injury. The category includes two incidents. There were one incidents of drugs. For two incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
