Carlinville Cusd #1 students suspended 108 times in a single school year

Carlinville Cusd #1 reported 108 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 108 students during the year. That equates to 7.2 percent of the 1,495 students enrolled.

Of the 92 in-school suspensions, 76 were given to boys and 16 were given to girls.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 57 incidents. There were 31 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 62 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes 11 incidents. There were three incidents of unspecified reasons. For six incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
