The home of Richard and Stacy Ledford at 805 East Union Avenue
Richard, Stacy Ledford and daughter Scarlett live at 805 East Union in Litchfield. Their home has four floors and was built in 1873 by Samuel Moody Grubbs and commissioned by architect George Barnett. The couple have lived in the home for four and a half years. They have done extensive repair to the home and have worked to restore it to its original state. They have rebuilt the front porch, refinished the hardwood heart pine floors and are adding period light fixtures which include a chandelier from France. Their house has floor-to-ceiling windows with original wavy glass, original quarter inch floors downstairs, Italian marble fireplaces with original tile and east lake mirrors. The beauty of the home includes plaster walls, crown moldings and medallions, built-in bookcases, china cabinets and chest of drawers. Additional unique and original features of the home include a spiral staircase, dumbwaiters and the ornamental radiators. The Ledfords stated, “We love this old place and wonderful community. The house is making strides. We will probably always be working on this house. We are the stewards for a time here.” They added that they hope those who visit their home will enjoy the tour and understand that the house is a work in progress.
The home of Jacob and Jennifer Fleming at 390 Arrowhead Lane
Jacob and Jennifer Fleming have lived in Litchfield since childhood. They have been in their home at 390 Arrowhead Lane in Litchfield for five months. Jacob is a loan officer and Jennifer is a teacher. Their home has four bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It features a two-story foyer, newly renovated rooms throughout and recent updates to outdoor areas. The Flemings were happy to participate in the home tour where funds raised benefit the Auxiliary Scholarship program. For all who attend the home tour, the couple stated, “Thanks for supporting our students.”
