HSHS St. Joseph?s Hospital Breese issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
On Saturday, September 29 from 9am to 1pm, HSHS St. Joseph’s Breese invites all parents, grandparents, or caretakers to a car safety check located in the east employee parking lot behind the hospital. Our certified car seat technicians will be there to make sure you are installing and using your child car seat or booster seat correctly.
Why is it important to have your child’s car seat or booster seat checked? Vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death and injury for children. You want to always be prepared incase an accident would occur. Child car seats and restraints reduce the risk of injury by 71%-82%, while also reducing the risk of death by 28%. In addition, booster seats for children between 4-8 years of reduce fatal injuries by 45% compared to wearing a seatbelt alone.
Come out and join us September 29 for the HSHS St. Joseph’s Breese car safety check! Please bring your vehicle, car seats, and car seat manuals if possible.
