PANA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL: Butler to Perform Surgeries at PCH

Pana Community Hospital issued the following announcement on Oct. 16.

Pana Community Hospital is pleased to announce Ophthalmologist Dr. Patrick Butler will begin performing cataract and other eye surgeries at Pana Community Hospital beginning September 12. Dr. Butler will be at PCH the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

Dr. Butler is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has served communities in the Springfield area and throughout Illinois for over 20 years.

He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University Of California School Of Medicine, in San Francisco, CA and completed his residency and fellowship in Ophthalmology also at University Of California School Of Medicine. Dr. Butler was one of the pioneers of dropless cataract surgery in Central Illinois. He sees patients at the Ophthalmology Center of Illinois in Springfield as well as Central Retina Institute in Taylorville, Advanced Eyecare in Carlinville, and Family Eyecare in Hillsboro.

Opportunities for surgical specialists to provide procedures at PCH will be expanded when the new Patient Services addition is complete. Plans to open the addition are expected to be in late November 2018.

The Surgery Department of Pana Community Hospital is comprised of a team of skilled and experienced professionals who work with consulting surgeons. Pana Community Hospital offers surgical services Monday-Thursday, including Endoscopic, Laparoscopic, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, and General Surgical Procedures.
