Report: Aviston spent $6,405 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Aviston School District 21 is down 2 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Clinton County school district spent $6,536 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $6,405 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 391 to 392.

Aviston's spending in 2017-18 was 52 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
