Report: Brownstown spent $10,665 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Brownstown Community Unit School District 201 is down 4.6 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Fayette County school district spent $11,179 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,665 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 388 to 376.

Brownstown's spending in 2017-18 was 20 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
