Report: Staunton spent $7,146 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Staunton Community Unit School District 6 is down 4.4 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $7,476 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,146 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1258 to 1313.

Staunton's spending in 2017-18 was 46.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
