Report: North Mac spent $8,606 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at North Mac Community Unit School District 34 is up 13.3 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $7,599 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,606 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1530 to 1336.

North Mac's spending in 2017-18 was 35.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
