Analysis: Centralia administrators rank 384th in state for average pay

Administrators in Centralia High School District 200 earn an average of $101,117 per year, ranking 384th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 18.4% higher than in 2014 and 13.3% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 5.7% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Marion County school district enrolled 908 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 182 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
