City of Breese issued the following announcement on March 5.
THE POLICY IS:
The two trees in question on North Walnut and 7Th street were on City property, and in poor shape, (dropping limbs). If a tree is on City property AND in poor condition the city will remove it. If a tree is on private property AND a danger to our primary voltage electric system, (the service wire to the house does not apply), the city will remove the tree. If we cut down a tree on city property we will also remove the stump, if we remove a tree on private property it is the homeowners responsibility to remove the stump.
