Village of Germantown Board of Trustees met March 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular monthly Board meeting of the President and Board of Trustees for the Village of Germantown was held on March 19, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. Those present included the following: Trustees: Michael Albers, Ken Albers, Ken Brauer, Fred Lucas, Roger Rickhoff and Jerald Schroeder. Village Attorney Aaron Epplin, Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles and Supt. Steve Mullins and were also present. Village President Duane Ripperda and Clerk Dawn Lakenburges were absent. Guest included Darlene Lohman of the Clinton County Humane Society.

Trustee Michael Albers made a motion to appoint Ken Brauer as Village President Pro-tem in the absence of President Ripperda. Trustee Ken Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.

The minutes of the previous month’s meetings were available for review. A motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Michael Albers, second by Trustee Ken Albers. Motion carried.

Darlene Lohman, representing the Clinton County Humane Society, was present to explain the organization is forming a Queen of Hearts drawing to be held at the Red Deuce. After a brief discussion, the Board ok’d the raffle but asked Lohman to be respectful of the neighbors and parking situations should the raffle get large.

Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles gave his report next. Wuebbles said the officers will be doing CPR certification and gun qualification this month.

Supt. Steve Mullins reported next. Leo Street Apartments demolition has been complete.

Trustee Fred Lucas made a motion to accept the bid from CJ Schlosser & Company from Alton, IL for $7,500. Trustee Michael Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder, Finance & Insurance Committee Chairman, presented the Board with a draft copy of the FY 2019 Revised Budget and FY 2020 Budget. The members were asked to review with final adoption at the April meeting.

Trustee Ken Brauer, Zoning, TIF & Subdivision Committee Chairman, said the committee met to discuss an application presented by the Library for help with a new roof. The Committee is recommending reimbursing the Library $8,000 from the TIF. Trustee Jerald Schroeder made a motion to approve the TIF deal and move forward with the agreement and ordinance. Trustee Roger Rickhoff seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder asked the TIF Committee to discuss helping the Legion with a new air conditioning system. The Legion will have to submit an application.

Attorney Aaron Epplin said he will present the Board with information regarding fireworks, zoning issues, etc at the next meeting.

Trustee Michael Albers made a motion to pay all bills as presented. Trustee Jerald Schroeder seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder then made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Roger Rickhoff seconded the motion and the motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
