The following actions were taken on May 14 in the House on Senate bill SB947 ("veh cd-approach emergency veh"): "Motion to Suspend Rule 21 - Prevailed", "Motion Filed to Suspend Rule 21 Executive Committee(Rep. Gregory Harris", "Final Action Deadline Extended-9(b) May" and "Assigned to Executive Committee".

When a bill is introduced to the House, the clerk reads the bill title and it is automatically referred to the Rules Committee. If the Rules Committee thinks that the bill merits further consideration, it is assigned to another committee. In this case, the bill was assigned to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is a standing committee of the Illinois House of Representatives.

The bill, as it was introduced in the Senate by Sen. William E. Brady (R-44) on Jan. 31, "amends the Illinois Vehicle Code" and "makes a technical change in a section concerning a short title," according to the General Assembly website.
