The data shows that three men and one woman were released in Virden. The median age of the parolees was 32. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2016, and the oldest was a 44-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2016.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Nicholas T. Abbott. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when he was 31 years old. He is now 33.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
